Highfields Hires New Executive DirectorJim Davis

The Board of Directors and staff of the Highfields Center for Composting are thrilled to welcome our new Executive Director, Jim Davis, to the organization.

Jim brings with him a bundle of skills, talents, and overall experience that will help Highfields fully realize the opportunities before us, and grow into the next phase of our organizational development. We are especially keen to tap Jim’s development and sales talents as the value and presence of composting throughout Vermont. Fundraising and operational excellence, core skills of Jim’s, are critical to maturing our organization and increasing our impacts and they will ensure Highfields’ on-going capacity to deliver effective programs.

A graduate of Middlebury College with an MA from Goddard College, Mr. Davis has over 25 years of experience in the private and non-profit sectors.  He has started and operated several successful businesses including an indoor roller hockey company based in California.  As a native Vermonter from Derby, Jim returned to Vermont in 2000 and led the development and operation of Indoor Recreational of Orleans County (IROC), a non-profit community recreational facility in Derby, until 2007.  He is the former Chief Financial Officer of NSN Sports, a sports company streaming live college and high school sports video over the web, and served as the CEO for Make-A-Wish Foundation Vermont for two years. Mr. Davis resides in Lyndonville, Vermont with his son.

In the midst of working to complete our new Compost Research and Education Facility, and roll out of statewide composting infrastructure in Vermont, we are excited to have Jim’s talents on the job and look forward to his leadership.

We are thrilled to have Jim join the Highfields team.  Welcome Jim!
