Leadership change at Highfields

by Nicholas Comerci

Dear Highfields Composting Community:

Recently, Jim Davis stepped down as executive director, and in light of the leadership change, the Highfields’ board wants to assure you of their focused effort to strengthen our core programs. Our dedicated staff will continue to provide the high-quality services for which we have long been known, and to work closely and diligently with our partners in community composting and food waste recycling.

Organizations like ours–now in our 13th year as a mission-driven non-profit–grow and change rapidly in their teen years. As this growth and change occurs, staff changes are a natural part of the evolution. Transitions like this are not easy in the short term, but we feel confident that we will emerge even stronger with our core principles and programs in place. We appreciate everyone's patience and support in the interim.

Highfields Center for Composting will continue to “Close the Loop” on food waste. We will provide updates and announcements involving our online tools and resources for community and school composting programs. We are also gearing up for International Compost Awareness Week (May 5 through May 11). Please join us for some of the events we’re offering.

We welcome your questions and concerns and invite you to email us at board@highfieldscomposting.org.

Sincerely,

Nick Comerci, Board President
